Preparation and adhesion
A coating bonded to weak laitance or paint can fail early regardless of product price. Mechanical profiling and contamination control are foundational.
Traffic and exposure
Tyres, turning forklifts, dragged pallets, dropped tools, ultraviolet light and chemical spills affect wear differently. The specification should match foreseeable use.
Coating thickness and topcoat
A thin decorative coat is not equivalent to a high-build multi-layer system. Compatible topcoats can improve wear, chemical or UV performance when selected for the environment.
Maintenance and repair
Keeping grit off the floor, cleaning spills quickly and repairing local damage early can extend service life. Waiting until moisture or contamination travels beneath the coating can make repair more extensive.
