Where this floor system fits
A durable garage floor starts with the slab, not the colour chart. We assess concrete condition, contamination, cracks, moisture indicators, access and intended use before specifying the preparation and coating build.
- Single, double and triple garages
- Home-gym and workshop garages
- Vehicle storage and detailing areas
- Multipurpose storage and utility spaces
Concrete assessment and preparation
Garage concrete commonly carries tyre residue, oil, paint, curing compounds or a dense machine-trowelled surface. Mechanical diamond grinding is normally used to remove weak material and create a profile for the coating. Edges, cracks and defects are treated according to what the slab is doing; structural movement joints are not simply filled and hidden.
How the coating build is selected
Full-flake systems use a pigmented base coat, a complete broadcast of decorative vinyl chips, scraping and vacuuming, then a compatible protective topcoat. Plain-colour systems can give a cleaner industrial appearance. Metallic finishes are decorative feature floors and need a different expectation around variation, gloss and maintenance.
Important limitations
No coating makes damaged concrete structurally sound. Persistent rising moisture, deep oil contamination, moving cracks, poor drainage and direct weather exposure can change the recommended system or make coating inappropriate until the underlying issue is addressed.
Cleaning and maintenance
Avoid vehicle traffic until the quoted cure window has passed. Use soft brooms, microfibre mops and neutral cleaners. Lift rather than drag metal cabinets, use trays under leaking equipment and clean fuel, oil or chemicals promptly.
Our six-stage workflow
- Initial review: photos, dimensions, use and access.
- Site assessment: concrete condition, coatings, contamination, moisture indicators, cracks and joints.
- Written scope: preparation, repairs, system, finish, exclusions and cure windows.
- Mechanical preparation: controlled removal and profiling appropriate to the slab.
- Installation: products applied within their specified conditions and recoat windows.
- Handover: return-to-service and maintenance guidance.
