Finish comparison

Epoxy Flake vs Plain Epoxy

Appearance matters, but preparation and the complete coating build still determine performance.

Full-flake systems

Full-flake floors completely cover the wet base coat with vinyl chips before scraping and sealing. Their multi-tone finish is visually forgiving and popular in garages, gyms and customer areas.

Plain-colour systems

Plain coatings create a uniform industrial or minimalist finish. They can make dust, scratches and roller variation more visible, but may be easier to patch in some operational environments when the same colour remains available.

Texture and cleaning

Flake creates natural texture; aggregate can increase it further. More texture can improve traction but also increases cleaning effort. Plain floors can be smooth or textured depending on the specification.

Which should you choose?

Choose full flake when decorative variation and practical disguise of light marks matter. Choose plain systems when a consistent colour, line marking or functional industrial appearance is preferred. Do not decide without considering topcoat, exposure and traffic.
